ACCOMMODATION
The OMU has formed a partnership with The City Lodge group for accommodation during Founders’ Week.
There are 4 hotels, located along the beach front in Port Elizabeth / Gqeberha:

These hotels are within very close proximity to the Boardwalk Convention Centre, where the gala dinner is taking place, and directly across the road from the beach.
For bookings and for your discount please follow these instructions:
- Scroll down slightly
- In the block “Type City, area or hotel” start typing in Port Elizabeth and it will pop up with the hotel options and as well as “200Muir” as the discount code
- Select the dates you’d like (between 1 and 10 August 2022 only)
- Go to “View Rates and Book”
- Select your room type & preferred rate
- Click on the green “Continue” button and complete your details

TOP 5 THINGS TO DO IN THE NELSON MANDELA BAY AREA WITH YOUR FAMILY
Kragga Kamma Game Park
This self-drive game park is located about 20 minutes from the Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) beach front, on the outskirts of the city.
Animals you can see include rhinos, zebra, buffalo, giraffe, various buck, warthogs, etc. The park recently rescued 3 lionesses from the Ukraine and they are enjoying their new life in Africa in a protected environment. There is also a large, caged area for rescued Cheetahs.
Addo Elephant National Park
The Addo Elephant National Park is approximately 1 hour drive from Gqeberha and 40 minutes from Kariega (Uitenhage).
It is the 3rd largest national park in South Africa. Animals that you can see include Elephant, Lion, buck, zebra, dung beetles

Adrenalin Addo (Ziplining)
For those who want something a bit more fast paced and exciting, visit Adrenalin Addo for ziplining options, in the heart of the Sundays River Valley in Greater Addo.
Sundays River Adventures
Enjoy a few hours cruising along the Sundays River (half an hour from Gqeberha) enjoying the peace and tranquillity of river life. Thereafter try your hand at sandboarding down the large dunes along the river.
Shopping and Beach Time in Jeffreys Bay
Don’t forget that the world famous surfing town of J-Bay is approximately 40 minutes from Gqeberha and it offers many surf clothing factory shops as well as quirky décor shops. A walk on the beach is a must.
