Our Grade 11-12 Physical Science learners participated in STEM in ACTION, a community engagement entity within the Engineering, Built Environment and Technology (EBET) Faculty at Nelson Mandela University. According to the faculty, the purpose of the program is to facilitate a “hands-on brains-on” approach within the teaching and learning of Physical Science for learners to consider possible STEM careers in future.
The Grade 12s did a practical experiment to prepare to identify an ester, while the Grade 11s did a practical on Newton’s Second Law.
