A breakfast will be held for Corporate companies within Nelson Mandela Bay, as well as Old Muirites and anyone who would like to attend.

The highlight of the breakfast will be guest speaker, Stephen McGowen (global speaker & best selling author).  Stephen is the longest held and surviving Al-Qaeda hostage and will share on his experiences and relate this to principals of resilience and dealing with dark moments and times of uncertainty and how to survive and thrive.

The Eco Tank Challenge

Thanks to support from Eco Tanks, we are challenging each participating company to purchase a 5000L water tank for R3500-00, plus VAT, to donate to Muir College in an attempt to alleviate the water crisis in the region.

Beneficiary

The beneficiary of profits is The Uitenhage Mental Health Society, which is one of only two mental health organisations in the Eastern Cape, thus servicing a large area.  Mental Health services are offered to the public free of charge, which is beneficial to those who cannot afford such services and it is crucial to their wellbeing.  They have established four homes for adult persons and offer holistic social services in a homely environment.

FOUNDERS’ DAY ASSEMBLY & WAR CRY

Venue: Muir College Hall and Quad
Time: 11h30 arrival, assembly from 12h00 to 13h30. War Cry at 14h00 – 14h15
Price: R25pp

You don’t want to miss this event where memories will come rushing back, you will reconnect with your classmates, reminisce about the “good old days”, sing the school song…

Assembly highlights:

  • Procession of academic staff led by flag bearers of old boys living in overseas countries
  • Congratulatory messages from various boys’ high schools in South Africa
  • Acknowledgement of youngest and oldest Old Muirite in attendance
  • Acknowledgement of “special” Reunion Classes (Classes of 2012, 2002, 1997, 1992, 1987, 1982, 1972, 1967, 1962, 1952
  • Headboy and Deputy from each Class to create a pathway for all to exit through
  • The laying of wreaths for those fallen in wars

After the Assembly we will make our way down to the Ellis Sport Field where we will have a large group War Cry…give it your all.

NC DUGMORE HOUSE REUNION

After the War Cry (14h15), all boarders, especially those who stayed in NC Dugmore House, will be welcome to enjoy a short tour of the new hostel, Thomas Muir House, guided by some of the current boarders.  Thereafter, an informal reunion of NC Dugmore residents will take place at The Muirite.
